John Gunn is Global Manager of Operations for Bechtel’s Energy Transition business, based in Houston. He leads the hydrogen and advanced fuels businesses, which deliver customers’ projects from feasibility / concept through engineering, towards EPC.
John has 25 years of international energy & petrochemical experience in engineering, commercial, operations, project, and global executive leadership roles. His experience spans hydrogen / ammonia, methanol, sustainable aviation fuels, clean power & renewables, carbon capture & storage, natural gas / LNG, & petrochemicals. Prior to Bechtel, he spent >20 years with a global integrated energy company.
John serves on the Coordinating Steering Committee of the multiorganizational US NPC Hydrogen Study for the US Secretary of Energy, and previously, the US NPC Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Study.
John holds a Master of Chemical Engineering degree from Imperial College, UK, and he is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers.
