Ir. Steve Chong Chien Loong is the Technical Specialist for Hydrogen and Process Engineering at ABB, a leading global technology company that energizes the transformation of society and industry to achieve a more productive, sustainable future. He has more than 10 years of working experience within multi-national companies in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries. He is a Chartered Member of Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Engineering Council UK, a Professional Engineer (Peng) with the Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM), as well as the evaluation panelist for Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC).

In his role in ABB, he is the subject matter expert for hydrogen production technology and serves as the key technical resource for the Asia region. He is the process technical lead for conceptual studies and FEED with regards to ABB’s integrated Electrification, Controls, Telecommunications & Digital (ECTD) solutions. Prior to joining ABB, he worked with Johnson Matthey for syngas technology, responsible for the delivery of all technical services and support requirements for syngas customers in the Asia Pacific and Indian subcontinent regions. He also worked for PETRONAS Chemicals Ammonia Sdn. Bhd., responsible for providing technical and operational support for hydrogen and ammonia production plant as well as managing cross-functional teams for execution of major capital projects.
